SLS1 delivers great lighting performance at only 1.3 inches thin

When the Hickory Creek Centre, located in Mokena, Illinois, was looking to update their Parking Lot and Canopy Lighting for their plaza, they contacted Jim Zimmerman with MIZ Enterprises, and he looked to eLuminaire to provide the solid-state lighting solutions. Having used eLuminaire products for several years, he was familiar with the quality and performance of the ALS1 Series High Performance Area Light, and the SLS1 Low Profile Canopy Fixture and settled on them as the perfect solution for this project. “I selected the SLS1 Series fixture for several reasons. The existing site conditions required a low profile fixture due to the low mounting height. The SLS1 is only 1.3 inches below the ceiling line. The ALS1 with type VSQ optics provided 28,907 lumens , while only using 250 watts of power. There was a requirement of low spill light on the residential area of the project, so the House Side Shield was added to the Type III fixtures along that property line. Even with a 38 ft mounting height, the HSS was able to cut the spill light down to .2 fc at the property line which was only 5 feet from the pole. The light levels exceeded the expectations, with an average light level of 2.3 fc, and the uniformity was below IES recommended standards at 7.5:1. The project was completed in 2019.
