ALS1 with optional house side shield lights up Michigan Shore Club Pickleball Courts

When Jim Zimmerman with MIZ Enterprises was given an opportunity to relight the Michigan Shore Club Pickleball Courts in Wilmette, Illinois, he looked to eLuminaire to provide the solid-state lighting solutions. Having used eLuminaire products for several years, he was familiar with the quality and performance of the ALS1 Series High Performance Area and Sports Light and settled on it as the perfect solution for this project. “I selected the ALS1 Series fixture for several reasons. The existing site conditions required a forward throw optic with outstanding performance, coupled with a low backlight component to prevent spill lighting form reaching the adjacent residential property. The option of a high performance House Side Shield was considered, but not necessary due to the performance of the standard fixture at 20,158 lumens , while only using 161 watts of power. The light levels exceeded the expectations, with an average light level of 46 fc, adequate for tournament play, and the uniformity was at IES recommended standards at 2.5:1. The project was completed in April of 2020.
